With over 25 years of experience in the educational sector, Dr. John L. Mayo has dedicated his career to helping school districts operate more effectively, serve their communities, and create better outcomes for students. Beginning as a classroom teacher and advancing through roles such as assistant principal, principal, assistant superintendent, deputy superintendent, chief human resources officer, and chief operating officer, Dr. Mayo brings a unique blend of instructional insight and operational expertise.

For the past 15 years, his focus has been on district operations, leading departments that span human resources, finance, facilities, technology, safety, and labor relations. He has successfully managed budgets exceeding $800 million, overseen teams serving tens of thousands of employees, and led transformative projects that improved infrastructure, safety, and efficiency across multiple school districts.

A passionate advocate for facilities improvement, Dr. Mayo’s doctoral research explored the connection between school renovation and student achievement. He has since spearheaded multi-million-dollar capital improvement plans, worked hand-in-hand with community stakeholders, and secured major funding initiatives to modernize learning environments.
